I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

I have an ulcer on the tip of my tongue. I think it looks like a bizarre tongue piercing.
I'm dreading Thursday.

| short memo |
[Monday, March 13th, 2006 @ 10:38pm ] |
http://community.livejournal.com/armyofchrist/122774.html
"Right now we are in the middle of a holy war, that could be the greatest war mankind has ever seen, and I think it is important that people preach tolerance and understanding to their fellow christians. It is important to stand up to the fundamentalist fanatics of the world who want to prove that they own the true and right ideas and are willing to kill anyone who doesn't agree with them.
Just as the fundamentalists come from any faith, so will the Army of Christ. The Army of Christ cannot be an effective force unless it's members can recognize one another not by the contents of their holy books, but by the contents of their hearts. This is the spiritual war, this is what needs to be fought, and this is how it will be won. Too many people have been hurt by Christians, and have turned away from the word 'Christ', it is up to us to show them that Christ is good, that Christ is loving, and that the Christ of those that would seek to dominate and enslave by vain men and women standing on pulpits brandishing a bible is not the real Christ but a false idol.
Look for the light of God in someone's heart, that's where you will find the truth of your brethren. They come from all places, from all religions, from all cultures, they are strategically placed because only an insider can speak to his/her own people in a language they will understand. Just like how Paul tailored his sermons to the knowledge of the people he was preaching to."
This is a little garbled, but I think the gist of it is pretty true. No one owns God - He created all peoples and watches over them all. God is a universal, extravagant, personal love. The idea of someone saying, "OK, this is God as defined by me," is ridiculous, to say the least. So just chill, OK. Jesus died for everyone.

| what I did at GRRRR-aces camp |
[Friday, March 10th, 2006 @ 10:04pm ] |
1. was molested a lot by Princess Claire 2. got over my fear of Chu Ting 3. learnt to swear in hokkien 4. made GRABBY HANDS 5. sit and stand with a book on my head 6. hug Chris
7. I actually like my class
There was so much fruit punch at camp. I remember glasses and glasses of bright pink punch. Eurgh.
I guess... I'm not going to try and sound fun anymore because what's the point. I hate pretentious emo people so I should stop being one.
in no order of loveliness: I love Sarah Banana because she is just so sweet. I love The Magical Braying Cinderella for her fearlessness and her ability to get over her insecurities and be the most fun ever. I love Scary Qian even though she hates me ): because clearly hard-to-get for the win. I love Po Linn because she is like 3-month-old chewing gum: resilient and, um, colourful. +D I LOVE JIA BECAUSE SHE IS QUITE AWESOME. Gwen is the best ever because she is full of psychedelic lurrrrve and selflessness. Maria is not as bratty as she would have you think she is. RACHEL CHEL CHEL DINGDONGBELL! ding dingggggg <3 JOLEEN is a lot nicer than she seems! HAIRY CLAIRY FAIRY is like funky nerd max factor ever!
I'M TIRED ALREADY. This is the post-camp high I guess; if you spend two and a half days with the same bunch of people doing sweaty things in close proximity (that sounded a bit weird but nevermind) you can't help but get a lot closer and feel MUCHOS AFFECTIONOS towards them. so anyway camp was cooler than I thought it would be. It was pretty OK. And I realised that a lot of people in my class are not as intimidating as they seem.
on the other hand, nothing much has changed. although I hoped it would. but that seems like a year away.
i'm fainting now because instead of sleeping the afternoon away, I tramped to my dentist and then walked around until seven when I came home and showered and talked to friends. so goodnight. pictures later maybe baby.

| Matthew 12:31 |
[Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 @ 10:14pm ] |
JESUS SAYS: Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
I would take refuge in levity, but I don't feel like doing that.
So am I doomed? Is this devil-using-scripture or does God really hate me now?
I got an anonymous SMS this afternoon: God is the parent of the prodigal child, waiting faithfully and eagerly on the road for our return, night after night. There are no folded arms and stern judging stares, only the eyes of a parent straining for our return, longing to embrace us and rejoice in us.
Is this the way pop-culture would have us see God or is it true. Because this is God who, among other things, mauled 42 children to death with bears for calling Elisha a bald-head. 2 Kings.
